Many of us who've heard this great quote, associate it with career or work. It's along the same lines as the saying, "Do what you love and the money will follow".

I like to consider this quote from Campbell in a different way. Bliss is one of the highest emotional states or vibrations. It's right up there with
gratitude and love! So, wouldn't it be great to use bliss as a measuring stick and shoot for it in all aspects of life?

I agree. Sometimes it's impossible to get even a whiff of bliss, when for days or even weeks we've been hanging out in frustration, irritation or even resentment and anger.

I've heard it said that, 'neutral' is highly under rated state of being and I think it's worth some consideration here. Why try shooting for bliss, when
most of the time it's just too far out of our reach? If we go for neutral instead, then bliss won't be such a big jump from there.

I know from my own experience, that it's very hard to jump from a the lower emotional states to higher ones i.e. from feelings of disappointment way up to happiness.

These emotional quantum leaps are usually very short lived and even a bit manic. I know I tend to back- step emotionally when I try to jump too far. I may even slip back further than where I started. So, going for neutral works much, much better for me.
