Caron Van Deventer, Ph.D. for the 39 years I had with my sister - who left us 8 years ago today. I miss you, Cisio!

I Miss My Sister

She was music and magic, she was love and light
She was blessed, she was cursed, she was fury and fight.

She was laughter and passion, she was beauty and beast
She was valley and mountain, she was famine and feast.

She was beautiful, she was burdened, she was witty and wild
She danced with fame and rejoiced for a while.

The fire in her eyes and her beautiful face
So often hid the demons she faced.

From alpha highs to omega lows
Each trip in between stole a part of her soul.

I watched and I wept as the storm in her raged
Two sisters imprisoned; each helpless, each caged.

The day finally came - she’d had enough strife
Too tired to keep fighting, she took her own life.

I miss my sister, I miss her everyday.
My friend, my fan, my Cisio, rests easy now, I pray.

The hole in my heart will not heal – not ever
But the song of her life, I will cherish forever.
~~

I love you Cisio!
