... Gold ...because it is softer,(than most precious metals) ... like you. Precious ... cuz you have a high value.(In my book of friends, that is!) And the fish ... Ummm ... Well, ... Yikes!!! ... Back to the Gold! Because it's shiny, like you and I really like 'shiny!' 
And the fish ... Ummm (I'm thinking!) Ummmm ... (I'm stalling!) Ummm ... I got it!!! The fish cuz he can navigate his way through dark and uncertain waters and still come out Shining!!! Yeppers! Just like You! Love Ya ...
