Jules Cook Dear dad
I'm so grateful that you were my dad, I didn't always show you or tell you how great you were (and to be honest at the time I didn't always think it) but looking back now I'm so very grateful for how good to me you were. You gave me the space to grow and to make my own mistakes. You were very rarely judgemental and you accepted my choices even the bad ones. You were fair-minded and stood up for human rights and equality. You were funny and entertaining and I remember you laughing a lot. For years I wasn't sure how much you loved me but when I had Zach you rushed straight down to see him as soon as he was born and when you picked him up I realised that you must have looked at me that way too and all the doubt disappeared. You and mum were always in love and that was sweet to see. You both gave me such a happy childhood you were the best parents I could have had and I'm eternally grateful for that.
