Sabine Schlachter In the Bible there is a story about digging ditches. As the story goes, there was a drought upon the land and the people were in great need of rain so as not to perish. The prophet at the time told them to dig ditches to catch the rain that was to come so they could channel the rain to their crops. The people protested, "There are no clouds, there can be no rain. Why make us dig ditches now?" As you can imagine (because this is the way of all good stories) after the ditches were dug, the clouds and the rain came. The moral of the story: we can't make our good happen, but we can make it welcome and be ready to receive and use it.

So this week, your suggested spiritual practice is to "dig ditches." Assume you will be blessed this week and be ready to receive.
